Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Small businesses are important to the social and economic fabric of our communities. From shops and restaurants, to farms that have sustained families for generations, local businesses are part of the heart and soul of the places where we live and work—they’re places where we come together, whether to make new connections or celebrate longtime friendships. Local businesses bring cultural diversity, contribute philanthropically, and they simply make our communities better.
The Scribe Away is particularly focused on strengthening local economies by supporting small to medium sized businesses and supporting our community through effective nonprofits. We endeavor to include diverse perspectives and to make our designs, writing, branding and other products work for everyone. We strive to acknowledge and dismantle any inequities within our policies, systems, programs, and services and explore potential underlying, unquestioned assumptions or systemic inequities that interfere with inclusiveness. We practice and encourage transparent communication in all interactions, and we hope to lead with respect and tolerance.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
