Our Story
How We Got Started
We are a collaborative group of freelance professionals brought together under the direction of Margaret Adsit, owner of the Scribe Away. We are based out of Palmer, Alaska, the beautiful valley town, nestled near the Chugach mountains. We love adventure, travel, farming, and obscure hobbies, but most importantly we love to be creative and thoughtful.
Our name, Scribe Away, comes from the tradition of scribes of ancient Israel, who were members of the learned class who studied and served as copyists, editors, teachers and jurists. This group of society were the great thinkers of the day. We wanted to take this ancient profession and bring it forward and apply it to our work in copywriting, editing, branding and teaching clients about SEO and content marketing. We may be “Away” up in Alaska but we can help you, no matter where you are.
